Meet the Galt House Artist in Residence

Please join the Galt House Hotel as we welcome our first Artist in Residence, Gibbs Rounsavall, at a reception unveiling his new installation, Align. Rounsavall, a Louisville-based geometric abstract painter, was appointed by the Artist in Residence selection committee, comprised of twelve prominent members of Louisville’s arts community who reviewed samples of submitted work, interviewed prospective artists and evaluated how the artists might represent the arts community and Louisville. As Artist in Residence, Rounsavall will spend the next nine months creating in his studio on the third floor of the hotel where his work and creative process will be on exhibition and open to the public. Rounsavall will serve as the Artist in Residence until February of 2020. The public is invited to meet Gibbs at the Meet the Artist reception during the Republic Bank Friday Trolley Hop on June 7 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.. A reception will be held outside the Artist in Residence studio on the third floor of the hotel in the west tower.
