Nature-based learning: Why our children need it now

Dr. Jean Lomino, a former classroom teacher and nature center director and co-founder of the Wauhatchie School, the first forest kindergarten in Tennessee, will discuss the growth of forest kindergartens and nature preschools in the U.S. and the importance of nature-based learning for children’s healthy development. Dr. Lomino is also working to bring nature immersion experiences to children in other educational settings, including public schools and childcare centers.
