The "ladies celebrating ladies" holiday honors friendships between women and was first introduced by Amy Poehler's Leslie Knope in a 2010 episode of NBC's Parks and Recreation. Admission is a box of tampons, pads, or a menstrual cup. The products will be distributed between the Louisville Rescue Mission, Home of the Innocents, and The Center for Women and Families, in order to help women in need. Desserts First

The 13th Annual Desserts First is an all adult networking event. The Louisville region's finest restaurant chefs will create original desserts, appetizers and signature drinks using the well-known Girl Scout Cookie varieties as the key ingredient. The chefs will gather and present their creation for tasting at the Brown & Williamson Club, 2800 S. Floyd St., Louisville, KY 40209. Desserts First is a fundraiser where guests sample exclusive culinary creations and enoy an evening with friends. The evening will also include live music, a silent auction, and a judging ceremony, crowning the best desserts, appetizers and specialty drink of the event. Guests will vote and participate in the "People's Choice" awards. Back by popular demand will be the Wine & Bourbon Pull.

2-Day Fiberglass and Spray Foam Insulation Training

IDI Distributors is holding a comprehensive fiberglass and spray foam insulation training event in Louisville June 18 - 19. Runway for the Roses 2019

Spring and Derby styles from around Westport Village hit the runway on Thursday, March 21, 2019, from 5-7pm inside Bliss Home. Complete runway fashions from Apricot Lane, Collections, Darling State of Mind, Rabbit in the Moon, Shirts Ties N Links, and Tunie's will give onlookers a glance at the hottest looks of the season and how to wear them – including color trends, patterns, accessories, hats and fascinators. The grand event will kick off with Four Roses Cocktail Hour from 5-6pm. Attendees can enjoy tastes from Village restaurants and sample unique wines and bourbons provided by Westport Whiskey & Wine, along with a special Four Roses cocktail. The styles hit the catwalk from 6-7 pm, where guests have the opportunity to sit back and relax on gorgeous Bliss Home furniture during the show. Afterwards, Village retailers remain open late with exclusive sales just for ticket holders. Runway models are recruited by Heyman Talent and hair and makeup will be provided by Fusion Salon & Spa and 18|8 Fine Men’s Salon. This year guests can catch their favorite local fashion bloggers and media personalities walking the catwalk in their signature styles. Louisville Grows: Citizen Forester 101 Training

The Citizen Forestry Training 101 is the foundation of Louisville Grows' Tree Planting Program. Through the Citizen Forestry 101 course, participants learn how to build and maintain our neighborhood and community forests. Participants are taught basic tree anatomy and physiology, environmental stewardship, tree planting skills and how to lead other volunteers in proper planting and caring for trees.
