Community Forum: “The Central American Immigration Crisis”

Highland Presbyterian Church will present a series of forums for the Louisville Community exploring the issues currently influencing immigration policy and seeking to discern what appropriate immigration policy in our country should look like in the future. The public is encouraged to attend. All sessions are free: Julie Bunck, Professor of Political Science at the University of Louisville, and Beth Yeager, Organizational Leader of the Overground Railroad, will lead a presentation/discussion on “The Central American Immigration Crisis” we are currently experiencing and help us understand some of the root causes and some of the potential solutions that we can provide as a country. This program will be offered on Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2019 in the Sanctuary at Highland Presbyterian Church at the corner of Highland Ave and Cherokee Parkway. Program is expected to last 1 ½ hours. Another Community Forum will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 10, 2019 in the Sanctuary at Highland Presbyterian Church at the corner of Highland Ave and Cherokee Parkway, featuring Rep. John Yarmuth, Representative to the US House of Representatives, as he presents and leads discussion to layout a vision of what appropriate and successful Immigration Policy can look like in our future. Program is expected to last 1 ½ hours.
