Human Trafficking & Sexual Exploitation Seminar

United Nations Association of the USA Kentucky Division's UN Human Rights Day Program: Human Trafficking & Sexual Exploitation Conference will focus on "Human Trafficking & Pornography as Public Health Crises" on Oct. 16, Wednesday, at U of L University Club Ballroom from 8:30A.M.. to 4:30 P.M. The kickoff will be by Attorney General Andy Beshear (invited) & Commissioner John Moberly, Department of Criminal Investigations followed by a Rotary District Governor, then Senate President Pro Tem David Givens & Faith Fountain. Plenary speaker: Helen M.C. Taylor, Exodus Cry Director of Intervention, Kansas City, "Pulling up Sex-Trafficking at the Root: A Proven Way to Disrupt Demand; Is Louisville Ready for a Cyber Patrol" and Keynote: Lisa L. Thompson from Washington, D.C. National Center on Sexual Exploitation, Vice President of Policy & Research, "A Clear and Present Danger: Pornography as a Public Health Crisis". In the afternoon speakers plus workshops: Aaisha Hamid, Author, B.S., B.A.,"Child Exploitation: Pornography as a Public Health Crisis" and Vicki Yazel, BSN, RN, SANE-A Nurse, "Identifying Human Trafficking Exploited Persons" followed by Human Trafficking Awareness Workshop.
