Building the Connection: Under-served Communities in Mental Health and How to Reach Them

This is a panel discussion. Under-served populations from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds across the life span experience higher rates of exposure to factors that put them at risk for poor mental health. In Louisville this means there are pockets of our communities that are not receiving the mental health care they may need. Join local mental health practitioners as they talk about ways we can help de-stigmatize mental health and increase resources in all communities of Louisville. Topics include: LGBTQ, People of Color, Latinx, Immigrant issues and Men’s issues. Our panel will look at what barriers to mental health exist in these populations and ways we can better support them. Panelist include: Shannon Gonter LPCC, NCC of Therapy by Shannon, Iesha Beasley LCSW of Journey Counseling and Consulting Services, Brittany Johnson LMHC, Shannon Lockhart, LCSW, and Lisa Tolliver LPsyA.
