The Book Works Sale

The Book Works, a social enterprise in Louisville that employs and supports homeless and disconnected youth, is hosting a sale to celebrate the MAYOR’S GIVE A DAY Week of Service: Friday, April 12, 2019, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, April 13, 2019, 10:00 am to 4:00 pmYMCA Safe Place, 2400 Crittenden Drive. To acknowledge the service educators provide to our community, all teachers will receive $5 in books of their choice at no charge. This will be our largest sale yet, with more than 15,000 donated books, movies, music, and games available, most for less than $2. One-of-a-kind, special collections, and author-signed books will also be for sale. Proceeds from this event fund services for homeless and disconnected young people. In our community, more than 18,000 youth and young adults are “disconnected”, out of school and work often because they struggled in school due to poverty, learning challenges, or childhood trauma.  Learn more....
