Free Wildflower Hike

Hike the lovely Scott’s Gap Trail in search of wildflowers with our experienced Volunteers. This 3.3 mile, strenuous trail traverses the hills and valleys of the westernmost portion of the Forest. The most challenging section (if traveling counter-clockwise) is the beginning where the trail follows a steep 180 ft. climb to the top of a knob. The northern portions of the route follow ridgelines whereas the southern sections follow lower elevations. Meet in the Scott’s Gap parking area. Event is FREE and open to the public. No registration needed. Contact the Welcome Center during office hours for directions if needed 502-368-5404.
