March 4, 2019 To: Adjoining Property Owners, Representatives, and Brandon Coan, Metro Councilperson for Council District 8: Dear Friends and Neighbors, We are requesting a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow us to operate a short term rental at 2328 Valletta Lane. As you may know, this house belonged to our late parents, Diana and Robert Brown, for over 50 years, where we grew up. In 1971, Canonero II won the Kentucky Derby, and our parents hosted the owners and jockey at our house. Continuing in this Derby tradition, this year we plan to rent our house to visitors to Louisville during the Derby Festival, April 22, 2019 – May 6, 2019. We anticipate up to six possible guests but not more than eight. There are technically five off-street parking spots, which should be well over what they would need. Bonnie will be available for any emergency contact on her mobile phone during this period. We are holding a meeting to discuss our plans on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at 2328 Valletta Lane. At this meeting, we will explain our proposal and answer any questions you might have.
