Louisville Historical League Annual Meeting & Heritage Awards Date & Time: 2 pm Sunday, March 17th, 2019 Where: St. Brigid Catholic Church, Baxter & Hepburn Avenue Parking: Park either on adjacent streets or enter parking lot off of Rubel Ave Cost: Free and open to the public   On Sunday, March 17th, 2 pm, at St. Brigid Catholic Church (Baxter Ave & Hepburn Avenue) the Louisville Historical League will hold their Annual Meeting. Meeting is in the Goetz Center (not the church) which is the lower level. Awards will be provided to the following:                           Founders Award: The Founders Award will be presented posthumously to the late John Asher, who was Vice President of Communications at Churchill Downs. The Samuel W. Thomas Book Award: “Louisville’s Street Railways and how They Shaped the City’s Growth’. Martin Biemer will accept this award on behalf of the other co-authors posthumously George Yater and James Calvert. Branden Klayko Civic Advocacy Award: Doug Proffitt for advocacy of Louisville history Martha Elson Neighborhood Advocacy Award: Charles ‘Chip’ Rogalinski for contributions to Shelby Park neighborhood history Heritage Awards:  Anne Jewel for preserving the historical legacy of the Louisville Slugger  Paul Olliges for interpreting Falls of the Ohio history J Valle Jones for advocacy to preserve Whiskey Row Jeanne Burke leadership in preservation and interpretation of the history of Clark County, Indiana
