Intrepid Leadership Adventure Camp for Girls

The week-long in-residence leadership camps for girls will challenge teenagers to meet their potential, enhance their leadership skills and increase self-confidence and resiliency through team building, problem solving and an assortment of other outdoor activities. After the initial block of proper weapons discipline and use, paintball markers are assigned and the teenagers learn tactical first aid, map and compass skills, and basic patrolling techniques so they can accomplish difficult missions as a team. Additionally, the girls receive nine hours of combatives training from Rolando Haddad, owner of Core Combat Sports in Louisville. Our teens will take the Clifton Strengths-Finder Personality test and results will be used during the week by certified Strength Coaches to highlight individual gifts and skills. Teens are challenged daily with Leadership Reaction Course obstacles to solve problems quickly as a team. Leadership positions are rotated often so everyone gets the opportunity to lead and follow. The game of chess is taught and used to highlight the value of strategy and anticipation. Nightly campfire sessions will focus on ethics, the Nation’s Gold Star Program and other service-related topics. This intense 5-day course is held in Henry County, Kentucky on 300 wooded acres and is open to motivated and capable teens entering 9-12 grades. Campers sleep in military tents and eat meals family style. Prospective campers are eligible to apply immediately. There are only 24 slots available for each camp and will be assigned on a first-come basis to qualified candidates. The on-line application can be found at https://ift.tt/2BOfwZB along with additional details, testimony, video and pictures. The competitive application process includes the application and a phone interview with the camp staff. The cost of the camp is $550 and a 50% registration fee is required to hold the slot (refundable before 15 May) while the balance is due one week prior to the start of camp. The team at Intrepid Leadership Group is made up of military veterans and special operators ready to demonstrate and teach the skills your teenagers need to maximize their potential and pursue their goals in academics, athletics and life.
