ThunderBlast 2019

ThunderBlast is the Kentucky Science Center’s largest family-friendly annual fund-raising event, drawing an average of 2,300 visitors each year. Held in conjunction with the Derby Festival’s Thunder Over Louisville event, 100% of the net proceeds benefit the Kentucky Science Center’s vision of creating a more scientifically literate society, empowered to ask questions, think creatively, solve problems and work toward a better quality of life for all. The family-friendly event primarily occurs in the outdoor space behind the Science Center; an area that is between the Ohio River and the Science Center. The location of our outdoor space provides optimum viewing of the event’s fireworks and air show and allows all guests to enjoy a front-row, riverside view of all Thunder Over Louisville activities, as well as all-day access to the Science Center. Doors open at 2:00. Guests can dine at local food trucks that are available for our guests only. A cash bar is available for our guests 21 and older. In addition to the airshow and fireworks, the Kentucky Science Center provides all day programming that involves our guests with science based activities, shows, and demonstrations that engage learners of all ages. Admission also includes access to indoor exhibits and restrooms. Tickets are on sale now at http://bit.ly/2T02Rt3 Volunteer opportunities are available! Contact the Volunteer Center at 502-561-6124.
