Acoustic Celtic Music with Pat Kirtley and na Skylark

Ring in Saint Patrick’s Day in a "pure-drop" traditional way! Join international Celtic fingerstyle guitar master Pat Kirtley and Celtic recording artists na Skylark for a magical two hours of inspired music in the beautifully restored performance space at “The St Catherine.” Wine, beer, and desserts available from The Bristol Catering. The Musicians: - Pat Kirtley is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning touring guitarist and composer known for his rich Celtic fingerstyle arrangements of traditional music including the works of Turlach O’Carolan and others. His 40-year career includes more than 10 recordings considered masterpieces in several musical genres, and his books and tutorials are essentials to students of both finger- and thumbstyle guitar. It’s a rare chance to catch this Kentucky native performing at home, but here’s yours! - na Skylark, which simply means “the skylarks” in Irish, plays the historic and traditional music of Ireland, Scotland, and other Celtic lands on Ireland’s national instruments: the Irish harp and the uilleann (“elbow”) pipes, weaving these voices and others – Irish song, flutes and whistles, fiddle, and the Appalachian dulcimer – into a tapestry of sound and feeling listeners have described as “deeply touching” “authentic,” and “soul-food for my Irish heart.” na Skylark’s “Old Ceol” was selected as one of the best new recordings of 2017 by “Celtic Connections” radio.
