Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour

LOUISVILLE, KY (October 30, 2018) - A one-of-a-kind historic preservation district boasting the largest contiguous collection of Victorian architecture in the United States, the Old Louisville neighborhood is known for hosting the Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour. In the spirit of the Yuletide season, the tour is set to showcase the rich and diverse history of Historic Old Louisville. The 42nd Annual Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour will take place Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2 from noon to 6:00 p.m. Each year it attracts thousands of visitors to Old Louisville to experience “One of the Great Places in America,” according to the American Planning Association. This year’s tour highlights the versatility of the neighborhood and shows how easy it is to work, live and play in Old Louisville. The 2018 tour features a variety residents who own and operate their local, independent business right out of their Old Louisville home. Two examples are Kris Stewart who owns her own book binding business; and Sharron Dills, who runs the Old Louisville Fleur de Lis Bed & Breakfast with her husband. “This year's Holiday Home Tour showcases small business owners who both live and work in Old Louisville, as all of their businesses are headquartered in the neighborhood,” said Charlotte Gross, co-chair of the Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour. “We are proud to display these beautiful homes and office spaces. We are also excited to feature several homes that are owned by families with young children, further showing tour-goers that you can work, live, play, and raise a family right here in Old Louisville,” added Gross. There is something for everyone during the Holiday Home Tour! Step back in time and enjoy an authentic Victorian Tea, set within the Conrad-Caldwell House. This traditional Victorian Tea party will feature a variety of teas, provided by the Louisville Tea Company, and a sampling of savory and sweet treats enjoyed during the Victorian era. The museum will be fully decorated for the holiday season! The Victorian Tea is an all-ages event. Guests can also get a head start on holiday shopping at the holiday gift boutique, hosted by The Woman’s Club Of Louisville at 1320 S 4th Street. For convenience, there will be free parking and regular shuttle pick-ups throughout the tour area. More information may be found on online. Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour pre-sale tickets are available until Friday, November 30 for $25 and can be purchased by clicking here, or by visiting the Old Louisville Visitors Center in Central Park (1340 S. 4th Street).
