Building Our Blocks

In 2016, Mayor Greg Fischer's Building Our Blocks (BOB) was created as a response to systemic neighborhood challenges in Louisville. BOB brings together Louisville Metro agencies with community leaders and organizations in an effort to help keep neighborhoods clean, green and safe – one block at a time.   Since its inception, the program has served many Louisville Metro neighborhoods with over 700 citizen engagements. Building upon a successful 2017, BOB is continuing its unique and personalized way of engagement and on-the-spot service delivery. This year, coupled with all of the synergy happening around Vision Russell, community improvements and economic development, BOB is focusing its efforts in the Russell neighborhood.   BOB brings together Louisville Metro Government agencies with community leaders and partner organizations to take steps to minimize blight, deter crime, beautify neighborhoods and build hope – one block at a time. BOB partners lend their time and resources to connect directly with residents to strengthen community engagement and provide on-the-spot services during the event.   In 2018, the Building Our Blocks team will visit Russell four times including: April 13 June 15 August 10 October 12
