A neighborhood meeting will be held to discuss the application for a short term rental at 1132 Cherokee road. The meeting will occur at the subject property, Wednesday, December 12 at 6:00 pm.
Street Closure - Reindeer Romp 4k
Location: Cherokee Park Scenic Loop. Starting at Hogan's Fountain in Cherokee Park, running around the Scenic Loop. Goes briefly out of the park to loop around the Daniel Boone statue a Eastern Pkwy. Road Closures: Lexington Rd btw Cochran Hill Rd and Scenic Loop-Cherokee Rd btw Eastern Pkwy (Daniel Boone Statue) and Dingle Rd. Streets will reopen on a rolling basis, once the last runner passes. Time: 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Fifth Annual Louisville Swig
Hosted by Louisville Magazine, the party of the century is returning! Join us at a new venue as we celebrate the Repeal of Prohibition and the launch of SWIG: Volume X. Reindeer Romp 4k Run/Walk
First race of the Polar Bear Grand Prix. Enter just the Reindeer Romp or make the full commitment to run all three races of the Grand Prix. Registration for the entire series can be found here. Four kilometer (2.4 miles) run and walk around the beautiful Scenic Loop in Cherokee Park. Course is USATF certified and sanctioned. Great way to kick off the 2019 running/walking season just a little early. The first 500 entrants will be guaranteed a Reindeer Romp, gender specific, long sleeve tech shirt. Those who register after the first 500 will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis. Pre-race packet pickup and late registration is Friday, December 7th at Fleet Feet, 117 Breckenridge Ln. (St. Matthews Station) from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Race day packet pickup and late registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at Hogan's Fountain Pavilion in Cherokee Park.

1619 Flux - Photography Workshop With Geoffrey Carr
Photographer Geoffrey Carr will be at 1619 Flux: Art + Activism on Saturday, December 1st to meet with visitors, show some of his past work, and head up a workshop for photographers. Geoffrey has been a Commercial Photographer for over 30 years, and has won numerous awards locally and nationally for his photos. Geoffrey was a member and Director of the Pyro CoOp Gallery and ran the Firehouse Gallery. Currently he shares artist/work space at Carr-Waite Studio with fellow artist Caroline Waite. Repeal Day Celebration
Roll out the barrel in celebration of Repeal Day with Bourbons Bistro! Join our bourbon expert Jason Brauner and the entire Bourbons Bistro gang on Wednesday, December 5th on Frankfort Avenue as we roll a barrel of our Maker’s Mark Private Select bourbon down the ave and back to Bourbons Bistro. We’ll gather at The Wine Rack starting at 4:30pm and then hit the road at 5:00pm. The celebration continues through the night in the Bourbons Bistro bar and dining room with $1 well shots and $4 off appetizers all night long.

The Kentucky Watercolor Society’s “New Year, New Art” exhibit featuring a variety of artwork and mediums runs from January 5 through March 29, 2019, at their Brownsboro Center gallery. The gallery is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11-4 and Saturday 11-3, and now features an area of small framed paintings priced under $50, in addition to art prints, unframed original art and painted greeting cards.
